A promise of remembrance.

Each day, the peace officers, and firefighters of our community exemplify personal courage and commitment, striving always to ensure a safe environment for our city and its citizens. Too often, we are unaware of the time and effort expended in preventing crimes against person or property. We may take for granted their dedication and valor until an unfortunate event occurs, becomes newsworthy, and captures our attention and our deep concern.

What can we do to show our continued appreciation for the dangers they face daily in order to strengthen and preserve the peaceful lifestyle we all enjoy?

A national memorial and several state and city memorials exist that pay grateful tribute to the lives of peace officers and firefighters who have fallen in the line of duty. Fort Worth now fulfills its mission of expressing, in perpetuity, its appreciation and memory of our lost heroes, through the creation of the new Fort Worth Police & Firefighters Memorial.

Our site in Trinity Park will be a living memorial and a constant reminder of our dependence upon and appreciation for those who continue to sacrifice their welfare for ours. Behind each name engraved on this monument is a story...a story of courage and sacrifice...a tale of heroism and service. The Fort Worth Police & Firefighters Memorial Board endeavors to build a memorial that will speak to our community about our fallen heroes. We owe them no less.
