Summary:
While fighting a garage fire at 1400 Commrce, Joseph Edward "Eddie" Westmoreland was one of two firefighters killed by falling debris. Both Westmoreland and Captain O.W. McCain were in the alley and were buried when a wall fell on them, crushing them. Two other firefighters were injured.
