Summary:
Captain L.E. Ferguson was a pasenger in a fire truck enroute to a residential fire at 1411 W. Magnolia, when the vehicle suffered a blow out of a rear tire. The vehicle skidded and struck a curb. Captain Ferguson was thrown from the vehicle an landed on the pavement in front of the truck. The truck, which had not lost momentum, then ran over Ferguson. Captain Ferguson died a sort time later at All Saints Hospital.
Captain Ferguson was buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Fort Worth. The cemetery records concerning Captain Ferguson have been mispaced, and the location of his grave is unknown, though it is presumed he is buried next to his wife, Mrs. L.E. Ferguson, who died in 1922.
