Summary:
Officer Alan F. Chick was assisting a stranded motorist in the 1400 block of Southeast Loop 820 when an intoxicated driver struck him. Officer Chick was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital where he died several days later. The driver of the vehicle, which struck Officer Chick, was convicted of Involuntary Manslaughter.
