Summary:
Officer Darrell G. Moon, a plainclothes officer assigned to the vice squad, died July 14, 1980 from a gunshot wound he sustained in a shootout in downtown Fort Worth. He and three other officers were attempting to arrest three young men they had been pursuing when Moon was accidentally shot in the head with a bullet fired from the gun of his partner.
