Summary:
Detective Henry Cleveland joined the Fort Worth Police Department at the age of 21 years in 1923. On February 7, 1952, Detective Cleveland, along with Fort Worth Officer A.Y. Armstrong and two Dallas police detectives went to 1933 Queen street to arrest Robert H. Barber, an ex-convict, on a Dallas robbery warrant. The detectives went to the front door and spoke with barber’s wife. She denied that the Barber was at home with her. As the officers started searching the house, Barber opened fire from the bedroom, shooting Detective Cleveland in the back and killing him.

Detective Cleveland was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
