Summary:
Officer Henry P. Mailloux was shot and killed after stopping a white Ford with license plates matching those of a car used in an armed robbery the night before. Officer Mailloux’s backup, Officer David Malone, arrived only seconds after Mailloux stopped the car. Officer Malone found Mailloux lying in the street with a gunshot wound to the chest. He lifted Mailloux into his patrol unit and took him to John Peter Smith Hospital where he died minutes later.
Henry Martinez Porter was later arrested for this murder. He was tried and convicted and was sentenced to death. The execution was later carried out in Huntsville.
The parents of Officer Mailloux were later responsible for causing the City Of Fort Worth to issue protective body armor to all Fort Worth Police Officers.
