Summary:
On May 20, 1959, shortly before noon, Officer Loy Howard Walton was working with a partner chasing speeders on the access road of the South Freeway near the Southwest Loop. While chasing a speeder, Officer Walton’s motorcycle collided with another vehicle. He was transported to an area hospital, but he was pronounced dead on arrival.
